Goals and deadlines. The clock never stops ticking! Aaaaah!

Greetings! It is the penultimate day of February, the weather is unseasonably warm, and I have just returned from a fun-filled visit to the dentist. Have you ever tried brainstorming while someone has their hand in their mouth, fiddling with your teeth? It’s not as easy as it sounds.

In other non-tooth related news, I wrote 4653 words this week, exactly 14 words less than last week, but comfortably more than my new 4200 word goal.

I spent some time this week trying to figure out a hazily realized tangle of scenes. I knew the space they needed to fill and what needed to happen, but the particulars were not as clear in my head as I thought, and it wasn’t quite working right. I think I’ve figured out how to make it work but it would have required changing the setting. So instead I kept going, as if I’d already made the changes. More work for the 2nd draft!

In any case, this week I’m going to stick with my goal of 600 words a day/ 4200 total. See if I can keep it up. Digits still crossed.

Hope you have a good week.

Happy reading and happy writing!
